Winter

. . .

Glistening snow flake fluttering slow
below becomes christened crisp

Encrypted crust encourages crushing boot
busting crunch-cubes

Whispering witches' wind-swirl slices shivering frost-wave
scattering in icicles

My mixes insist I sit, sly, silent,
remind myself to sleep heat under the sheets

Warm curled-up kitten clicking purr-ball
cuddles my cold burrowed feet

Creature's fuzzy face nuzzling close cozy
so you're not lonely

Darkest shadowed hollow weather bracing blizzard
better to stick together
